The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Iliana Healthcare System VISN 10,2215 Fuller Road Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1 (b) (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) intends to request quotation on a sole source basis with the Standard Imaging. NAICS 339112 applies.

This purchase request is for 2 Standard Imaging electrometers which are paired with the ionization chambers for radiation dose readings in setups defined by our calibration authority: AAPM Task Group 51. This purchase request is to replace existing equipment that is at end-of-life (EE 36963 [16 yrs. in service] and EE 57644 [12 yrs. in service]) along with the required Virtual Water Phantom Package which accurately mimics true water within .0.5% for therapeutic and diagnostic energies.

The cost for the 2 replacement electrometers and virtual water phantom package is $35,724.60 The existing Ionization Chambers are Standard Imaging. The electrometers are paired with the existing Standard Imaging ionization chambers for radiation does readings. A vendor other than Standard Imaging will cause interruption to service and care because the existing Ionization Chambers are Standard Imaging. The electrometers are paired with the existing Standard Imaging ionization chambers for radiation dose readings.

Other vendor electrometers cannot be used with the current equipment. Standard Imaging electrometers will provide uninterrupted service and continuity of care. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
