The U.S. Consulate General in Mérida intends to award a sole?source, firm?fixed?price contract to Megasur SA de CV for diesel fuel. Only a few regulated diesel vendors operate in the region, which eliminates price competition, and the alternative suppliers require advance payment terms that the U.S. Government cannot accept. Therefore, the Contracting Officer has determined that it is in the Government’s best interest to sole?source this requirement.
