Intent to Sole Source

The U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Fossil Energy (FE) plans to issue a purchase order to Politico/E&E News. E&E News' five daily publications deliver original and compelling journalism that keeps top decisionmakers in government, business, NGOs and academia informed and ahead of the curve. With more than 65 reporters and editors, E&E News offers an in-depth look at issues in Washington, D.C., and around the nation.

E&E reporters also regularly travel around the world to report on key events and projects with global consequences for energy and the environment. E&E News is the sole source for accessing the five daily publications cited above, which provide detailed information on key energy issues of importance to Fossil Energy policymakers and stakeholders. The Government intends to award a sole source purchase order to POLITICO.

The period of performance for this award will be one (1) year from May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2025. There will be four, one-year option periods after the base period. The award will be issued via other than full and open competition, only one responsible source and no other supplies and services will satisfy agency requirements. This is a NOTICE OF INTENT; no solicitation is available for this requirement.

If a firm believes DOE should not pursue this sole source procurement with the Politico for E&E News, then interested parties may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency NO LATER THAN 15 days from posting date via e-mail to Kelley Vandecoevering, kelley.vandecoevering@hq.doe.gov. The written response must include a general statement for services indicated in this announcement and past performance client information for a similar product.

A determination by the Government to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this requirement competitively in the future. No solicitation is available for this requirement. No telephone calls will be accepted.
