Notice of Intent to Sole Source Zeiss Hybrid Zoom Microscope

NOTICE OF INTENT to Award Sole Source – HiTech Instruments, Inc THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This synopsis is hereby issued in accordance with FAR Part 5.201. The purpose of this synopsis is to announce the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of the Chief Procurement Officer (OCPO) on behalf of the Office of Quality Operation (OQO) intends to award a sole source firm-fixed-price contract for Zeiss AxioZoom.V16 Microscope.

The intended contractor is HiTech Instruments, Inc, (UEI HWHRDKNA2887) of 925 Main St, Suite 200 Pennsburg, PA 18073. The Government intends to award a sole source contract utilizing a Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition IAW FAR Subpart 6.302-1(c)(1), “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.” The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516 - Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing.

THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, any responsible source believing that it can fulfill the requirement may be considered by the agency. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis and must clearly show the firm's ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy, and reliability of equipment provided.

A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No reimbursement for any costs associated with providing the capability information will be provided by BEP. Capability statements, comments, questions or concerns regarding this notice shall be submitted via e-mail ONLY to jason.roberts@bep.gov, NO LATER THAN 4:00PM, EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME, 30 August 2024.
