Salient Characteristics of Surgical Shaver:

Description: A VA Medical Center has a requirement for one Shaver Console and Handpiece for ENT, brand name or equal to Bien Air ORIGO and S120 handpiece. The Buy American Act, FAR 52.225-1, applies. Interested vendors shall include the place of manufacture in their responses. Salient Characteristics of the Shaver Console, Foot Pedal, Sterilization Trays, and Handpieces: Must be specifically designed for ENT procedures. Must have integrated irrigation.

Must be compatible with the Trudi Navigation System currently in use in the facility. Console must have ability to control the rotation speed of the handpiece, up to 5,000 rpms. Console must have foot control and irrigation stand. Console must have built in irrigation system, with continuous, on-demand, and intermittent settings. Handpiece must have a wheel for fingertip-controlled blade position. Handpiece must accept shaver blades that can cut soft and hard tissue.

Handpiece must accept shaver blades that come in 0-degree, 15-degree, 40 degree, 60 degree and 90 degrees. Handpiece must accept blades with multiple variations, single serrated, double serrated, and smooth. Handpiece must accept shaver blades that are single use. Handpiece must accept Trudi shaver blades. Handpiece must accept shaver burs.
