Notice of Intent to Sole Source - IDIQ BM Blood Culture Bottles

This Notice of Intent to Sole Source is published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101(a)(1). This notice is to advise public that the Government intends to solicit and negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed-Priced, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), with only one (1) source, Biomerieux Inc. This IDIQ will only have one (1) ordering period of one (1) year. This request is to establish an IDIQ to procure BioMérieux (BM) Virtuo Blood Culture Bottles for VISN 23 laboratories.

This contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one (1) source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), 41 USC §1901 and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), only one (1) will meet the Government s needs. Only one (1) source is capable of responding due to the unique or specialized nature of the supplies and/or services. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this posting. The applicable NAICS Code is 334516 and the size standard is 1,000 employees.

GENERAL REQURIEMENTS: The BioMérieux (BM) Virtuo Blood Culture Bottles must be compatible with and FDA approved to operate on BioMérieux (BM) Virtuo Blood Culture instrumentation platform. Orders received must be the same lot number per shipment per site for reasonable QC purposes. When used according to manufacturer s specifications must meet the performance characteristics and quality assessments as defined by the 1988 Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act. The Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service Line in VISN 23 desires to procure BioMérieux (BM) Virtuo Blood Culture Bottles to perform clinical testing for each of the clinical laboratories within VISN 23.

Any responses received will only be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in lieu of sole source contract described in this notice, and such determination shall be made at the sole discretion of the Government. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. If no responses are received, the government will proceed with the Sole Source acquisition. Your response should include:
