DISHWASHER, FLIGHT TYPE

This Special Notice of Intent (NOI) is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation or request for offers. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), San Diego Healthcare System intends to award a delivery order to GOVERNMENT SALES, LLC for a Flight Dish Machine, Integrated Soil Table and Disposal System.

The unusual circumstances leading to justification for other than full and open competition is the final rinse temperature has been “off-temp” and has required Nutrition and Food Service staff to chemically sanitize all items at every meal. An "off-temp" dishwasher is a commercial dishwasher that does not reach the required temperature for proper sanitization. The Dish Machine is responsible for cleaning approximately 600 meals a day. This machine directly impacts Patient Care.

The Government has concluded that the order represents the best value. GOVERNMENT SALES LLC is a small business concern found eligible and capable of meeting the Government's requirements expeditiously. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 333241. The Product Service Code (PSC) is 7320. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.

Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether competitive procurement is advantageous to the Government. A decision by the Government to conduct competitive procurement for the proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

The anticipated acquisition procedures are in accordance with (IAW) Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(A) an urgent and compelling need exists, and following the procedures would result in unacceptable delays. All inquiries shall be submitted via email to Anthony.delacruz@va.gov.
