SOLE SOURCE- ABBOTT LABORATORIES INC. Assurance Plus Service Plan for OPTIS Mobile

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 5.101 requiring dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals.

The Department of Veterans Affairs NCO 22 VA Medical Center-Tucson intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Abbott Laboratories, Inc. to provide the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System Medical Services Department Preventive Maintenance Warranty Services for Assurance Plus Service Plan for OPTIS Mobile located at VA Medical Center-Tucson, AZ 85723.This procurement is being conducted in accordance intent to execute a Sole Source Purchase Order under FAR Part 6, specifically FAR Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies Will Satisfy.

This notice satisfies the posting requirements at FAR Part 5.101. Contract is firm fixed price and the NAICS Code is 334510. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored.

However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and service, to the Contract Specialist within seven (3) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements.

Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Abbott Laboratories, Inc.
