THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. No Solicitation is currently available. All information contained in this Sources Sought Announcement is preliminary, as well as subject to modification, and is in no way binding on the Government. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this request. The information requested will be used solely within the Department of Veterans Affairs to facilitate decision making and will not be disclosed outside of the Government.
The determination of a procurement strategy, based upon the comments submitted in response to this Sources Sought Announcement, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 812210, Funeral Homes and Funeral Services, and the small business size standard is $12.5 Million. We anticipate using a Firm Fixed Price contract with an ordering period of five years from the date of award.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office (NCO 21) is soliciting information from contractors that can provide VA Transportation, Storage, Cremation and Disposition for the remains of deceased Veterans and the majority of services provided will cover the following facilities below, however all current and future facilities under the VANCHCS are considered in scope for services provided under this Performance Work Statement (PWS).
A draft of the Performance Work Statement (PWS) is attached to this notice. VA Northern California Health Care System 10535 Hospital Way Mather, CA 95655 VA Northern California Health Care System 150 Muir Road Martinez, CA 94553 Sacramento National Cemetery 5810 Midway Rd, Dixon, CA 95620 Brief Description of Services The Contractor shall ensure all work meets performance standards specified in this Performance Work Statement (PWS) and referenced documents.
The Contractor shall commence all operations required by the contract as of the first day of the contract period. The Contractor shall furnish all management, labor, supervision, equipment, and materials to provide transportation, storage, cremation, and disposition for the remains of deceased veterans for the VA Northern California Healthcare System (VANCHCS).
The successful vendor is required to continuously be compliant with the requirement contained herein, and meet or exceed the standards of, but not limited to the Joint Commission and California State Department of Health Regulations.
Period of Performance (POP): 04/01/2024 03/31/2025 plus four option years.

Capabilities Statement List of Projects (Government and Commercial) that are similar in scope and size. Anticipated Teaming Arrangements (if any). If plan on subcontracting, demonstrate that you will meet the limitations on subcontracting per FAR 52.219-14 for Small Businesses; VAAR 852.219-74 for SDVOSB/VOSB. GSA Contract Number, if applicable. Fill out the price estimate on the attached price schedule (for the base year and all four option years, only fill out the unit price column O).
Solicitation number 36C26124Q0357 has been assigned and should be referenced on all correspondence regarding this announcement. The Government will use this information when determining its business type decision.
