B209 ADA Door Opener Installations

This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE in support of the Veterans Affairs Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics (VA SORCC) located in White City, OR for market research purposes only to determine the availability of potential businesses with capabilities to provide the requirement described below. This sources sought is not set aside and any size business is invited to provide a response. Potential offerors are invited to provide feedback via e-mail to Helen.Woods@va.gov.

Responses will be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for a potential future acquisition. All responses due by 25 July 2024 at 8:00AM Pacific Standard Time. Potential contractors shall provide, at a minimum, the following information:

1) Company name, address, and point of contact, phone number, e-mail address, and SAM UEI.

2) Anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 332321 Metal Window and Door Manufacturing. The largest a firm can be and still qualify as a small business for Federal Government programs is a size standard of 750 employees. If you believe a different NAICS is more appropriate, please indicate with your response. Is your firm any category of small business for the subject NAICS Code?

3) What additional information would the Government need to provide for you to be able to submit an accurate and complete offer with full understanding of the requirements if we post a formal solicitation?

4) Submission of brief capabilities statement will assist our office in tailoring the requirement to be consistent with industry standards. The capabilities will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining to Set-Aside for the Small Business (SB) Community or to conduct as an Unrestricted Procurement. Other than small businesses may respond to this notice in the event the market does not indicate SB interest. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results.

DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUIREMENT: The Department of Veterans Affairs is looking to obtain information on companies who can provide the following at the White City VA SORCC. The Government has a need to install complete systems on three non-automatic doors to turn them into automatic doors to meet ADA requirements including push buttons for wheelchair users.

The Government is looking for companies who can perform the installation and is contemplating a brand name ASSA ABLOY requirement using only ASSA ABLOY certified and/or licensed technicians. Responses must include proof if the respondee can or cannot provide an ASSA ABLOY certified and/or licensed technician or a certified and/or licensed technician for an or equal system.

If an alternative to ASSA ABLOY system is suggested in response to this sources sought, please indicate if your company would also be interested in providing maintenance for this system at the facility.
