Special Notice Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Procurement  The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 17, intends to place a firm-fixed priced contract with Bk Medical Holding Company, Inc. for the procurement of the following commodities: Part Number Description Quantity 1300-25 bkSpecto Ultrasound System W/ 3 transducer ports HDMI, RJ45, Encrypted DICOM, WiFi and 6 USB ports 1 UA2457 Prostate Procedural Application Essential suite that includes the necessary Auto Optimization Algorithms, Presets, Measurements, Calculations, Worksheets, Reports and DSR 1 9008 E11C3b Endorectal Biplane Transducer 1 UA1414 Leakage Test Kit for the Transducers, ensuring full submersion, with connector housings 1 UA1370 Basket for accessories 1 UA4104 Integrated Printer Kit For the ultrasound SONY UP-D898 Printer Training Applications Training days On-Site clinical for our ultrasound sonographer to be completed within 60 days of delivery 2 UA1322-S Disposable Biplane Guides (18 pcs) 1                        Bk Medical Holding Company, Inc. provided a proprietary letter stating they are the sole manufacturer and distributer of the products from BK medical and are not available from independent resellers in the United States.   This notice is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals.

No contract will be awarded based on offers received in response to this notice; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Proposals or offers received will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government. If no affirmative written response is received within 7 days from the publication of this notice, a contract or order will be issued to Bk Medical. without any further notice.   The anticipated statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition for the requirement is 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
