Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount: GE MUSE system, GE MARS system and CardioDay Holster / software and hardware updates, inspections and preventive maintenance (PM) / annual amount $20,985.41, base plus four option years amount $222,445.41.
Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: This requirement is to provide software updates and perform PM services on GE MUSE and GE MARS cardiology equipment, to include CardioDay Holster. GE Company is the only company to meet and comply with the original equipment manufacturers specifications of the MUSE and MARS system and software.
They are the only ones who can provide proprietary parts, if applicable, along with software for the cardiology systems. Only authorized personnel, who have been trained and certified by GE, can perform software upgrades and preventive maintenance on the equipment. The GE MUSE and MARS are critical pieces of equipment needed to perform medical procedures. The contractor (GE) also provided a letter stating they were the proprietary vendor for this requirement.
GE does not endorse third party services or repairs at any time for any reason. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted: Market research was conducted to identify any other potential sources. The market research consisted of searching VetCert, SAM.gov Contract Opportunities, FPDS NG, GSA and SBA DSBS.
