THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT to gain knowledge and determine the availability and interest of vendors for NAICS 334220- Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment. The Department of Veteran Affairs VISN 15 is conducting market research to determine potential sources having the skills, capabilities, experience, and bonding capacity to perform the described work. No award will be made from this Sources Sought. No solicitation, specifications, or drawings are available; therefore, do not request a copy of a solicitation. All responses will be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for an anticipated future acquisition.
STATEMENT OF WORK Police Radio DAS Enhancement Scope: Eastern Kansas Health Care System (EKHCS) Leavenworth VAPD is requesting the installation of a DAS system to improve radio coverage in dead spaces on the Leavenworth VAMC campus. There are several dead spots for the VA Police radios. These dead spots are in the main hospital, building 160, and Building 122. Dead spots in the VA Police radio areas are a patient and employee safety issue.
General Requirements: This project includes the design, installation, commissioning, and testing of an 800Mhz Distributed Antenna System (DAS) for three buildings, including the main hospital, building 122, and building 160. The DAS will be installed to cover several identified locations of dead spots. See Leavenworth Dead Spot Survey. Brand Name Only. All equipment (Motorola) to be supplied under the specifications shall be the newest and the most current model of a standard product of a manufacturer of record.
A manufacturer of record is defined as a company whose main occupation is the manufacture for sale of the items of equipment and which: Maintains a factory production line. Maintains a stock of replacement parts for the item. Maintains engineering drawings, specifications, operating manuals, and maintenance manuals. Has published and distributed descriptive literature and equipment specifications on the equipment. Perform testing and optimization of equipment.
Documentation of the equipment testing confirming that dead spots have been eliminated. Administer safe work procedures. Ensure the proper disposal of all debris generated from activities. Perform all work and tasks required according to manufacturers recommendations during installation. Estimated sq. footage:
Main Hospital: 280,838 sq ft Building 122: 95,530 sq ft Building 160: 124,293 sq ft The Capabilities Statement for this sources sought is not expected to be a Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid, nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach, but rather short statements regarding the company's ability to demonstrate existing-or-developed expertise and experience in relation to the areas specified herein.
Any commercial brochures or currently existing marketing material may also be submitted with a Capabilities statement. Submission of a Capabilities statement is not a prerequisite to any potential future offerings, but participation will assist the Department of Veteran Affairs in tailoring requirements to be consistent with industry capabilities.
This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is neither to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. After completing its analysis, the Government will determine whether to limit competition among any specific socio-economic category.
