The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) seeks to lease the following space: The U.S. Government currently occupies office and related space in a building under a Medical Research Lease in Chicago, IL. The Government will consider alternative space if economically advantageous.
In making this determination, the Government will consider, among other things, the availability of alternative space that potentially can satisfy the Government s requirements, as well as costs likely to be incurred through relocating, such as physical move costs, replication of tenant improvements and telecommunication infrastructure, and non-productive agency downtime. Â Notice: This advertisement is a notice of a potential opportunity.
This advertisement is not a solicitation for offers, nor is it a request for proposals. The purpose of this advertisement is to identify potential sources and suitable locations and is not intended to pre-qualify or disqualify any potential offers. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred as a result of this advertisement.
The Government cannot provide any warranty, expressed or implied, as to the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of contents of the furnished information found within this advertisement; Government is under no responsibility to respond or answer any inquiries regarding this advertisement.
Respondents are advised that the Government assumes no responsibility to award a lease based upon responses to this advertisement. Â The VA will require any alternative space being offered to meet the following criteria: Â 1. A ten-year, five-year firm term lease. 2. Occupancy is required by August 01, 2025. 3. Offered space must be handicapped accessible, (ADA compliant). 4. Shall be able to provide 1,277 rentable square feet (RSF)/ 1,277 ABOA SF. 5. Proposed property shall not be located within the 100-year flood plain. 6. The proposed property must be within the delineated area as follows:

North DuSable Lake Shore Drive East:
North DuSable Lake Shore Drive South:
Chicago River West: North Michigan Avenue   To be included in initial considerations, interested offerors shall address ALL the following when responding to this announcement:  1. Proposed Property address with a map showing property within the delineated area. 2. Name, phone number and email address of Property Owner.
Note: if responding and you are not the property owner, i.e. broker, provide written statement from property owner (owner letterhead) authorizing you to represent the owner. 3. Documentation evidencing that proposed property is outside the 100-year flood plain. 4. Documentation delineating the cost advantages to the Government for relocating to proposed space. 5. Documentation delineating offerors ability to meet all the Government s requirements identified in this announcement. 6. Amount of space offered.
7. Cost. i.e. dollar per square foot. 8. Date space is available. 9. Other pertinent information that will help the VA determine if relocation will be economically advantageous.
