SPECIAL NOTICE: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio, is soliciting and intends to award a firm fixed price contract for weight and inspection testing of 816 Guldmann patient lifts located at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio. NAICS Code 811210, size standard $12.5 million.
The Government intends, in accordance with FAR 6.302.1 (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements), to negotiate on a sole source basis with Guldmann, Inc. (14401 McCormick Drive, Suite A, Tampa, FL 33626), for this procurement due to having proprietary rights to perform the work.
Guldmann has issued a letter on their company letterhead noting that they have adopted the new ISO 10535:2021 standards relating to the periodic inspections and weight testing of ceiling lifts. They assert in their letter that there are no certified third-party vendors that are able to perform the work. Further, they note that use of a non-certified vendor will nullify any warranty on the equipment. No solicitation package is available.
