36C25024Q0918 Intent to Sole Source Philips Transducer The Department of Veterans Affairs, The Chalmers P. Wylie Ambulatory Care Center, 420 North James Road, Columbus, Ohio 43219 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with OEM, Philips North America LLC at 22100 Bothell Everett HWY Bothell, Washington and their two Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) authorized distributors: Four Points Technology, LLC. at 14900 Conference Dr. Suite 100, Chantilly, VA 20151 and Alliant Enterprises, LLC at 2140 Oak Industrial Dr NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505. The Chalmers P. Wylie Ambulatory Care Center s GYN hours have increased from part time to full time, increasing the number of pelvic ultrasound exams.
Those exams require the Transducer in question and must be processed by Sterile Processing Services (SPS) after every use. SPS has a 48-hour turnaround time. Two (2) additional Philips FUS9170 3D9-3v Transducers are needed to accommodate the increase in patient care. The Philips FUS9170 3D9-3v Transducer is specific to the ultrasound units that we currently use. Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount: The GYN hours in the Women s Health Clinic at the Chalmers P. Those exams require the Transducer in question and must be processed by Sterile Processing Services (SPS) after every use. SPS has a 48-hour turnaround time.
Two (2) additional Philips FUS9170 3D9-3v Transducers are needed to accommodate the increase in patient care. The Philips FUS9170 3D9-3v Transducer is specific to the ultrasound units that we currently use. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: The Philips FUS9170 3D9-3v is specific for the Philips EPIQ Elite ultrasound system Radiology Service utilizes. Other vendor products would not be compatible. These Transducers are proprietary. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted:
Per End User: The Philips FUS9170 3D9-3v are specific to the ultrasound units that we currently use, which justifies the limited source.
