GENERAL: VA San Diego Spinal Cord Injury and Community Living Center has executed a new build that will meet the VA seismic criteria and meet VHA standard for long term care, 3350 La Jolla Village Drive, San Diego, CA 92161, has a requirement for medical equipment. The medical equipment will include a Gurney Prone Cart.

BACKGROUND: The VA San Diego Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and Community Living Center (CLC) has a requirement for gurney prone carts.

PURPOSE: The Gurney Prone Carts are being used in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) facility to provide mobility for patients who cannot use a wheelchair; it is a flat/horizontal cart with a fixed height.

SCOPE: VA San Diego Spinal Cord Injury and Community Living Center is requesting contractors to provide brand name or equal equipment that meets or exceed the physical, functional, and performance of the listed salient characteristics in this section. The equipment feature is essential to the technical requirements to meet the needs of the department.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Equipment must have the physical characteristics to enable the government to perform the capabilities: Gurney, Powered Prone Cart Falcon, FAL STRP 24 x 72 Powered, Patient-Drive Prone Cart with two 12" front wheels and two 8" rear swivel casters. 4" of height adjustment in 1" increments. Power Assist Drive Wheels Stainless Steel Construction Standard Gurney Mattress.

Removable Side rails and roll out storage tray for stretcher.

2 FUNCTIONAL AND PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS: Equipment must provide functional and performance capability as listed above in section in above.

SOFTWARE:

N/A INSTALLATION AND TRAINING: Contractor is to provide installation of the equipment. Contractor is to provide a one-time training at installation of equipment. Training sessions will be coordinated with VA POC.

WARRANTY OF EQUIPMENT: Government requirement for standard manufacturer industry warranty term. The government does not accept extended warranties, which require advance payment.

PERFORMANCE: All items to be delivered not earlier than 09/02/2024 and not later than 09/27/2024. Installation to be scheduled during activations period. Current date for start of Activations is the week of November 4, 2024.
