Axiovert 5 Digital Microscope

Description The Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Office of Research and Development (R&D), Regional Procurement Office (RPO) East in Pittsburgh, PA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Oklahoma City VAMC. The requirement is for the procurement for a Axiovert 5 digital microscope that has flexible mounting frame and inserts for: multiwell plates, flasks and petri dishes d = 95 mm, 88 mm, 65 mm, 54 mm, 36 mm; object slides 76 × 26 mm and chambers for the Veterans for the Wilmington VAMC.

This procurement is being conducted IAW FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. This is because the Government asserts that Innova Plex is the only contractor that can provide this specific requirement needed by the R&D Laboratory at OKC VAMC.

Specifically, the characteristics of the service that are unique are as follows This a brand name or equal to purchase: Axiovert 5 digital is the perfect fit for multi-user environments as proper system operation is supported by design. This all-in-one imaging system comes with an intuitive operating concept.

It has the capability to acquisition as well as multi-channel fluorescence image acquisition of up to 5 channels, includes the AI cell counting and confluency workflow: acquire images and get them analyzed instantly and video recording. This instrument has all the capabilities of much more expensive microscopes at a lower cost and allow us to get data quickly from our assays and be able to make quick efficient changes to those assays to improve outcomes.

After extensive research, we have not found any other options that allow us the same level of research, whether at the same price point or cheaper. We were unable to find any comparable products that could offer us the flexibility and multiuse as this microscope can. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.

However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement and supporting documentation (quote) to the Contracting Officer no later than Friday, 8/23/2024, (12:00 PM, CST).
