Research Services Cryotome and Confocal Imaging Pre-solicitation Notice with Intent to Sole Source

Pre-Solicitation Notice for the notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Oklahoma City VA Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract for a one (1) year base period to include two (2) option years with The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) to obtain expert research services cryotome and confocal imaging for an ongoing research study.

OMRF has years of experience with cryotome and confocal imaging services required for the research services and its services have been used on the continuing research study. To be consistent between the cohorts, it is necessary to use the OMRF cryotome and confocal imaging services. Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to Contract Opportunities. The applicable NAICS code is 541715 with a 1,000 employees size standard. The PSC is AJ11.

The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
