Intent to Sole Source for maintenance services with Nikon Instruments for an existing Nikon Super Resolution System.

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate on a sole source contract for a one (1) year base period to include one option year with Nikon Instruments based in Melville, NY on behalf of the Veterans Affairs Jamaica Plains Healthcare System (VAJPHS). The requirement is to provide a maintenance and calibration service agreement for the Nikon Super Resolution System microscope which is currently in use at VAJPHS.

Nikon Instruments is the only vendor that can provide maintenance services required on an existing microscope equipment, located at VAJPHS. Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to FedBizOps (FBO). The applicable NAICS code is 811210 with a $34MIL size standard. The PSC is J066. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
