Intent to Sole Source to a Small Business for the Carl Zeiss Pentero 800 The Otolaryngology section at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital has conducted comprehensive research comparing several other brands of surgical microscopes. After thorough evaluation, it has been determined that the Carl Zeiss Pentero 800 offers superior features that will significantly enhance our ability to provide the best healthcare to our veterans.

Carl Zeiss has identified ProAim Americas a Small Business as their exclusive authorized distributor for the Pentero 800. Therefore, this procurement will be a sole source requirement. If vendors believe they have an item that meets all the needs of this requirement, they are invited to submit their information via email to Marcus.Lewis2@va.gov. Please note that the decision not to engage in competitive procurement rests solely with the Government.

Any responses to this notice should present clear and convincing evidence that competition would be beneficial to the Government. Additionally, responsible sources are invited to submit a capabilities statement demonstrating, by a preponderance of the evidence, that another contractor can fulfill a service contract for the requested items at the James A.
