STATEMENT OF NEED Medical Beds GENERAL: The James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital, Haley s Cove Community Living Center, located at 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, Florida 33612 has a requirement for electric medical beds.

BACKGROUND: The James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital s (JAHVH) Haley s Cove Community Living Center provides essential long-term care services to veterans. As part of our continuous commitment to improving the quality of care and ensuring the safety and comfort of our residents, there is an immediate necessity to upgrade various medical equipment, including beds. The existing beds lack essential features required to cater to the modern healthcare needs of residents and clinical staff. Moreover, their replacement is essential to reduce dependency on rental beds, thereby cutting down unnecessary costs.

PURPOSE: The primary objective is to procure new electric beds to ensure that residents receive the highest standard of care in a safe and comfortable environment. These beds will facilitate better patient management, reduce the risk of injury to both residents and staff, and support the delivery of high-quality healthcare services within the Community Living Center (CLC). Moreover, their replacement is essential to reduce dependency on rental beds, thereby cutting down redundant costs.

SCOPE: This procurement involves the acquisition of a specified number of electric beds that meet or exceed salient characteristics, functional and performance criteria. The scope includes delivery, installation, and training for staff on the proper use and maintenance of the new beds. Additionally, ongoing service support and warranties must be provided to ensure long-term functionality and reliability.
