Page 1 of 1 VENDOR QUESTIONS & ANSWERS (Q&As) Fire Extinguisher Services (RFQ 36C24825Q0110)
Amendment 0001 The following questions were asked of the Government relating to the subject requirement which are hereby posted and responded to.
Q&As:
Question: What is the total number of portable fire extinguishers that will need to be inspected each month?
Answer: Currently we stand at 788 total assigned in the facilities. This includes:
Main Campus x 747 Primary Care Annex (PCA) Dental Lab x 2 5.1 miles from the Main Campus (inspected monthly by assigned service). Brooksville Clinic x 32 40 miles from the Main Campus. Newly acquired SUDs clinic in Spring Hill x 7 31 miles from the Main Campus (in route to Brooksville Clinic) and will not be occupied for approximately 3 years. Currently, Contractor will be responsible for 786 total monthly inspections. Monthly inspections for extinguishers assigned to vehicles are the responsibility of the service operating the vehicles. Requires no contractor monthly services.
Question: Do you have a vendor to purchase new extinguishers, or will the contractor be responsible for acquiring new units?
Answer: We currently utilize a separate vendor for purchases and disposals. Increases and decreases will affect the ending quantities each year but will be justified.
Question: The solicitation is asking for a quote per facility; however, the extinguisher numbers in the PWS are not broken down into the quantity per facility. Can you provide those numbers for each location or are you ok with providing a quote splitting the difference of the extinguisher per facility?
Answer: There was an additional question concerning an itemized list by facility. We did not break the items down by facility and would not expect the contractor to provide such list. All items should reflect 1 entity, the different facilities will only be reflected as the in-service locations. I believe the intent was, inspection records throughout the year will require the facility and location item inspected to be identified for record updating purposes. Buildings and locations identified via the VA extinguisher inventory must be used. Contractor assigned locations are not permitted.
