Description
As published on SAM.gov with the combined synopsis and solicitation of August 6, 2024.
GENERAL: The James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH), Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service, Microbiology Department, has a requirement for a Bench top specimen cytospin centrifuge. The prior centrifuge EE 71395 is no longer operable or able to be repaired.
BACKGROUND: The centrifuge requires repair and was taken out of service by the Biomed department. According to the Manufacturer the currently used centrifuge is now considered to be obsolete and is no longer able to be serviced. Spare parts for this model are no longer available and cannot be provided.
PURPOSE: The Microbiology Department will utilize the centrifuge to rapidly and efficiently concentrate and prepare cellular samples from various biological fluids, such as blood, urine, and other bodily fluids, for microscopic examination and diagnostic analysis.
