NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 5.101 requiring dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 07, located at 215 Perry Hill Road, Montgomery, Al is issuing this Notice of Intent (NOI) to inform industry contractors of the Government s intent to execute a Sole Source Delivery Order under FAR Part 8, specifically FAR Part 8.405-6(a)(1)(B), Only One Available Source. This notice satisfies the posting requirements at FAR Part 5.101.

The intended Contractor is Xerox Corporation, 18985 Berry Road Ste 1, Riverside, CA, 92508. Place of Performance is Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) VA Medical Center, 215 Perry Hill Road, Montgomery Al. CAVHCS requires Xerox Iridesse Press, this is a critical to the day-to-day print & mail operation of CAVHCS s Patient Reminder Notification Regional Print Center, located within CAVHCS s Tuskegee Campus.

This Print Center consists of two (2) currently installed Xerox Iridesse 120 PPM Production Press Color Printers, three (3) Info Seal Folder/Slitter Sealer Finishing devices that are utilized in conjunction with Xerox s proprietary Xerox/VA Patient Reminder Notification. The Xerox Iridesse 120 Production Press is a proprietary product developed and sold by Xerox. There are no authorized resellers for Xerox.

The Iridesse is a specifically Xerox-branded and engineered press, featuring Xerox-exclusive technologies, thus enabling it to be a fully integrated production press for the Xerox proprietary Xerox/VA Patient Reminder Notification Solution. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 532420, Office Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing. The Federal Supply Class (FSC) is W074, Lease or Rental of Equipment.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) size standard for this sector is 1,500 Employees. Size standards in million dollars $40.0. This notice of intent is neither a formal solicitation nor a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available, and telephone requests will not be honored. No award will be made on the basis of unsolicited quotations or offers received in response to this notice.

Any response to this notice must show clear, compelling and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the Government. The intent of this synopsis is for informational purposes only. The information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
