VARIAN MEDICAL SYSTEMS. THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Atlanta VA Medical Center intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one source to:

Varian Medical Systems 596 Alder Dr. Milpitas, CA 95035 The objective of this sole source award is to acquire 1 Couch Top Part Number TM6631300. Sole source is based on only one responsible source because Varian Medical Systems is the manufacturer of the Varian Linear True Beam Couch Top for the Linear Accelerator 5297. There is a Preventive Maintenance Service contract that covers the labor for this repair, however the Varian Linear True Beam Couch Top replacement part is not covered in the Service contract.

Contractor has also provided a letter to support this. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 334517; the small business size standard is 1,200 Employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. All information received by 10:00AM EST on December 10, 2024 may be considered by the Government.

Responses shall be submitted to William Prenzler, Contract Specialist at william.prenzler@va.gov. The email subject line shall state, Atlanta VA Medical Center , Intent to Sole Source to Varian Medical System. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
