7 ATT: Lasonja Harvey Department of Veterans Affairs 1826 Veterans Blvd, Bldg. 29 A Dublin, GA 31021 THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION NOR REQUEST FOR QUOTE Intent to Sole Source: The Government hereby provides notice of its intent to issue a sole sourced, firm-fixed-price delivery order in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B), Only one source is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services are unique or highly specialized.

A justification is being prepared and will be published in accordance with FAR Part 5. Description: The proposed sole source award is for procurement of various dental instruments that must be packaged as kits and delivered to the Central Alabama VA Healthcare System in Montgomery Alabama facility no later than 5/1/2024. Reference the attached SOW for full details and description of the deliverables. The intended source is Hu-Friedy Mfg.

Co., LLC, 3232 Rockwell Street, Chicago IL 60618. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) code that this work falls under is 339114 Dental Equipment and Supplies Manufacturing, with a size standard of 750 Employees. This is not a solicitation nor request for quotes. The government is not accepting quotes in response to this notice.

However, all responsible sources are encouraged to submit a capability statement and any other documentation demonstrating their capabilities to satisfy the requirement and include the Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number for verification. The Government will consider all capability statements received prior to this notice closing date. Information received will be considered strictly to determine whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government.

A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the Government's discretion. Responding to this Notice: Responses to this notice must be e-mailed to lasonja.harvey@va.gov no later than 11:00 AM Eastern Time (ET), March 27, 2024. Please include in the following in the subject line of your email: Notice of Intent to Sole Source Dental Instruments. The Government will not pay for, nor incur any costs resulting from this notice. Documents received in response to this notice will not be returned.
