The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Illumina for services to Durham VAMC. The Durham VA Health Care Center at 508 Fulton St has a requirement for NexSeg 2000 sliver support plan. The contractor shall furnish labor, parts, supplies and equipment necessary to provide silver support plan. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) soliciting from a single source.

VA SeqCURE is an integrated enterprise effort to conduct sequencing and other protocols to facilitate research and apply the results of the collaborative research to combat COVID-19 as well as other emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. This VA ORD program was initiated as a response to the COVID Pandemic. To date more than 6,000 specimens have been sequenced in order to understand the nature of the SARS-CoV-2 variants impacting veterans at the Durham VA.

The NextSeq 2000 Next Generation Sequencer is core to the VA-SEQCURE program. This instrument was purchased with VA SEQCURE funds as part of the Core Sequencing effort at the Durham VA. The instrument require annual Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Support to ensure continuing high accuracy, precision, and reproducibility. Conversations with the Durham VAMC BioMedical team indicates that this PM capability is not supported by Durham VA personnel.

No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any business that believes it can meet these requirements and possesses relevant past experience and expertise may give written notice. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement.

Responses will be considered by the Government, however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
