Intent to Sole Source Welch Allyn Connex Spot Service Kits

IAW In accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) and FAR 5.101 this notice is to advise the public that The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 4, intends to award a sole source, Firm-Fixed-Price Contract for the upgrade of their temporal thermometers to Welch Allyn, Inc., the large business manufacturer of the upgrade kits, located at 4341 State Street Road, Skaneateles Falls, NY 13153. VA Medical Center, Pittsburgh has a requirement to upgrade their current Welch Allyn Connex Spot Temperature Probes currently in use at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center.

The Welch Allyn service kits are the only service and upgrade kits compatible with the current temperature probes. Welch Allyn does not allow for resell of these kits. The associated North America Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 339112 and the Business Size Standard is 1000 Employees. The FSC code is 6515. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS or QUOTATIONS.

Responsible sources may identify their interest by submitting capability information that clearly demonstrates the capability to perform the required service as described above. Capability information is required by 15:00 AM EST July 18th, 2025 to establish the ability of the source to meet this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
