VIDAS 3 Reagents and Consumables

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 2), James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx, New York, in support of the James J. Peters VA Medical Center (JJPVAMC) (130 W. Kingsbridge Rd., Bronx, NY 10468) and Northport VA Medical Center (79 Middleville Rd, Northport, NY 11768) intends to procure on a sole-source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)) from Biomerieux, Inc. The JJPVAMC and Northport VAMC have a requirement for continuing use of VIDAS 3 instruments that are currently in use at both facilities and to purchase reagents and consumables used on these instruments.

The intent is to procure through the sole authorized distributor and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Biomerieux, Inc. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334516 with a Small Business Size Standard of 1,000 employees. The FSC code for this procurement is 6550. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement.

Parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. The capabilities statement must provide clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate the capability of the party to provide the required supplies and/or services. All capability statements received by closing of this notification will be considered.

When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to 36C24224Q0996 - Notice of Intent in the subject line. A determination not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA).

Based on the above information, it has been determined that the only company authorized to distribute, maintain, and provide reagents and consumables for this instrument is Biomerieux, Inc.
