SUMMARY: Federally owned inventions shall be made available for licensing as deemed appropriate in the public interest. Federal agencies having custody of federally owned inventions may grant nonexclusive, partially exclusive, or exclusive licenses thereto under this part.
The invention of a "A Submersible Matting System" (SUBMAT) is assigned to the United States Government as represented by the United States Army Corps of Engineers – Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) and is available for licensing by the United States Army. The submersible matting system supports vehicles moving over weak and/or soft soil such as beaches, riverbanks, and swamps.
This system provides an easily deployable pathway or roadway which is highly stable for multi-wheeled and/or multi-tracked vehicles. For additional information visit https://www.erdcwerx.org/submersible-matting-system-submat/.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: The ERDC intends to move expeditiously to license this invention within the United States. Licensing application packages are available from TechLink (www.techlinkcenter.org) and ERDCWERX (www.erdcwerx.org). All applications for a license to the SUBMAT IP must be returned to TechLink and/or ERDCWERX by 10:00 AM Central on 8 May 2024. All completed licensing applications will be reviewed by the Technology Transfer Officer for licensing potential. The ERDC will consider requests for non-exclusive licenses in the United States to companies both with the technical expertise and capability of broad commercialization of the technology.
