24-010093 Description: This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Purchasing and Contracts (OPC) intends to award a firm-fixed price to contract to ILLUMINA, INC., San Diego, California 92122 on a sole source basis for NextSeq 2000 maintenance contract The Clinical Center (CC) is a clinical research hospital providing medical services for patients participating in human research protocols at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The CC provides patient facilities and services for clinical investigators from various NIH institutes, conducts research in related areas, and supervises residency and other training programs. The DLM is responsible for providing next generation sequencing analysis for NIH patients, which requires instruments including the NextSeq 2000, which is validated for our current sequencing projects. The purpose of this request is to obtain a 12-month maintenance contract for the NextSeq 2000 (S/N VH01190-September 22, 2024-September 21, 2025 Line Items:
Description Quantity Line Item: 20040667 NextSeq 2000 Silver Support Plan 1 Scope of Work NextSeq 2000 Silver Support Plan Includes full coverage for parts, labor, and travel; Reagent replacement upon HW failures; 1 PM; Remote Technical Support 18x5; 2 business day on-site response target*; control SW and HW updates; on- site applications support; discounts on advanced training; remote monitoring available.
This is the most popular full-service plan balancing performance, productivity, and cost to deliver confidence and peace of mind. Illumina Inc. is the sole source of Illumina instrumentation NextSeq 2000 maintenance preventive maintenance service contracts, and replacement instrument parts. The expertise of Illumina engineers is specific for their instruments, and they offer the preventive maintenance that is required for our laboratory accreditation.
It is therefore deemed to be in the government’s best interest that this service be procured from Illumina.
This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.
Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
