Intent to Award Sole Source

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR BIDS, QUOTES OR PROPOSALS. At this time no solicitation exists. This notification is being posted for information purposes only. This procurement action is for the acquisition of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) spare parts for the Three-Mill equipment used by BEP for currency manufacturing. The required spare parts are described below:

BEP Item # MAP5386- Wedge Foot, Buhler P/N SDV -50383-010. BEP Item # MAP5387- Key, Buhler P/N SDV -50041-010. BEP Item # MAP5388- Spacer Sleeve, Buhler P/N SDV -85070-810. BEP Item # MAP5389- Piston To Roller Pressing, Buhler P/N SDV -40005-010. BEP Item # MAP5379- Differential Pressure valve 0...12.5bar 3, Buhler P/N UXS -16066-080.

BEP Item # MAP5380- Check valve VOSS ø10 Buhler P/N UNS -16301-003. BEP Item # MAP5381- Check Valve, VOSS ø6 2, Buhler P/N UNS -16301-001. BEP Item # MAP5382- Filter Element 1, Buhler P/N UNS -29021-026. BEP Item # MAP5383- Medium Pressure Filter 1, Buhler P/N UNS -29021-021. BEP Item # MAP5378- Regulating Valve Assembly, Buhler P/N 4 SDV -84108-810.

All spare parts required above are manufactured and are proprietary to Buhler Inc. There are no other sources that are capable of supplying the required OEM spare parts other than Buhler Inc. BEP does not possess the required capabilities in terms of labor, machinery or materials to produce these items.

Therefore, the Government has determined that this procurement can only be acquired from the OEM contractor, Buhler Inc. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to sole-source this requirement and award to Buhler Inc. The applicable North American Classification Code (NAICS) is 333248, All Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes.

If you feel your firm can provide all the spare parts listed above, please submit a capability statement no later than 4:00PM (EDT), 01 November 2024. The decision not to compete this requirement is within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must provide clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
