NOTICE OF INTENT to award Sole Source- Overt Security Feature for US Currency Program. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a Notice of Intent published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101(a)(1) requiring the dissemination of information regarding proposed contract actions. This Notice of Intent is for a proposed award of a sole source Firm Fixed Price contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C.3304(a)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1.

This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available and email requests for an RFP will not be honored. Background The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to award a firm fixed price contract to SICPA Secureink Corp., for follow-on research and development services for the development of security features for use in US banknotes.

This requirement is deemed to be available only from the original intellectual property owner of the overt security features, SICPA Securink Corp., only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The scope of the new effort is to continue the Phase 1 – 4 technology development effort – Concept, Feasibility, Test & Optimization, and Technology Integration. This is not a request for offers or capability statements however, the BEP maintains annual RFI’s related to R&D to acquire additional sources. The RFI’s are:
