Super Simultan Offset Press Inspection System and Electronic Upgrade

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE – KOENIG & BAUER BANKNOTE SOLUTIONS Super Simultan Offset Press Inspection System and Electronics Upgrade The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of the Chief Procurement Officer (OCPO) on behalf of the Office of Production Engineering intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract to Upgrade the existing Super Simultan Offset Press utilizing a Justification and Approval in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5.

The intended contractor is Koenig & Bauer Banknote Solutions. The Super Simultan Press IV located at the Fort Worth, Texas (WCF) facility requires an upgrade to the latest electrical and inspection system to meet the need for inline inspection at the offset printing phase of production. The upgrade shall include the required hardware and software to integrate the complete electrical and inspection system and replace obsolete press control systems to support in process quality inspection of all printed sheets.

See attached Statement of Work for additional details. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive offers/quotes/proposals. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information, or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government.
