Brass Plates for CTiP III Laser Engraving System

The CTiP III is a crucial component for future support of the United States Currency Program (USCP). The machine is in a developmental phase where digital files are engraved directly into a Brass plate. This plate may be used as a Master plate for the nickel-plating process, or it may be used directly as a printing plate after being Chrome plated. This direct to metal engraving process will replace the current polymer plate engraving process. This requirement will provide the BEP with an inventory of plates to be used for further research and development and potential deployment into the standard intaglio platemaking workflow.
