Intent to Award Sole Source

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR BIDS, QUOTES OR PROPOSALS. At this time no solicitation exists. This notification is being posted for information purposes only. This procurement action is for the purchase of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Spare Parts for the Automated Inspection Printing Equipment used by BEP for currency manufacturing. All parts listed in the attached Parts List are manufactured and are proprietary to UNILUX.

There are no sources that are capable of supplying all these OEM spare parts other than UNILUX. BEP does not possess the required capabilities in terms of labor, machinery or materials to produce these items. Therefore, the Government has determined the need to search for outside sources to procure these items. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to sole-source this requirement and award to UNILUX. The applicable North American Classification Code (NAICS) is 333248, Printing Machinery and Equipment.

This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes. If you feel your firm can provide all the spare parts in the attached list, please submit a capability statement by 3:00PM EDT, January 12, 2024. The decision not to compete this requirement is within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must provide clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
