This is a public notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 – Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions. The Library of Congress, Contracts and Grants Directorate, intends to award a sole-source firm fixed price contract to Backporch Broadcast, 5023 B U Bowman Drive, Buford, GA 30518. The work to be performed under the contract will be performed at the Library of Congress, National Audio-Visual Conservation Center, Packard Campus, in Culpeper, VA.
The period of performance of the intended contract shall run for 12 months with the possibility of four (4) additional 12-month option years and has a value at an estimated amount below the simplified acquisition threshold but above the public notice threshold (defined as greater than $15,000 but less than $250,000) for the entire period of performance.
The contract with Backporch Broadcast, an entity that is the authorized by the manufacturer to service and repair the equipment, shall provide maintenance support for the Indelt Videotape Robots and preventative maintenance on the equipment, which includes the replacement of consumables. The attached Statement of Work includes further details. This announcement constitutes the only public notice, proposals are not being requested from other parties and a written solicitation will not be issued. This public notice accomplishes the following:
Notice of the Library’s intent to sole source to Backporch Broadcast; Synopsizing the requirements in accordance with the FAR; and Publicly posting the approved Justification and Approval (J&A) to the public in advance of the contract award. As a result of this, a second posting of the J&A is not required after the award has been made, as the public posting of the J&A is being accomplished via this public notice. In addition, a second award notice shall not be issued, as the total award value is synopsized to its maximum possible potential in this notice. The following attachments are included in this notice:
