Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Wilcox Station 80C Sled Cable Barriers

U.S. Customs and Border Protection intends to issue a firm fixed price sole source award to Trafficade Signs & Sales, LLC. The SLED and Water Cable Carrier System is a reinforced barrier system that will be utilized to provide additional protection against speeding vehicles approaching the checkpoint minimizing damage in case of an impact. Replacement equipment is required to reopen and operate the checkpoint in accordance with the pending permits.

Period of performance: 90 Days after receipt of order The sole source justification is attached to this posting as well as the Statement of Work (SOW). The sole source is due to Trafficade Signs and Sales LLC being the only company that distributed both MASH TL-3 certified crash cushion and MASH TL-3 water barrier was TrafFix’s Devices, Inc. This company distributes the Sentry Longitudinal Energy Dissipater (SLED) and the TrafFix Sentry Water Cable Barrier.

Both are MASH TL-3 certified and since they are made by the same company compatibility is insured.
