Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR BIDS, QUOTES OR PROPOSALS. Currently no solicitation exists. This notification is being posted for information purposes only. This procurement establishes an ordering vehicle for Western Currency Facility (WCF), Office of Currency Manufacturing, to provide Roller Recovery Services. Finzer Roller uses specialized compounds to maintain the rollers of the Intaglio 10, Super Orloff, and Cope/LEPE presses.

These compounds are thoroughly tested and approved to ensure that the rollers are resistant to physical and chemical damage caused by offset inks, Intaglio inks, and cleaning chemicals. It is crucial to obtain these services promptly, as any delays will negatively impact the production of U.S. currency. This requirement is essential for the smooth functioning of the currency production presses. Any services obtained from vendors other than the ones proposed above will interfere with the currency production process.

All materials used in currency presses must undergo extensive verification and validation to ensure that they do not have any adverse effects on the finished currency. Changes to consumables or supplies are not allowed without the approval of the Bureau's Change Control Board for quality assurance purposes. Finzer is the only contractor that has been determined to be technically acceptable for use with the Intaglio 10, Super Orloff, and Cope/LEPE presses.

It is currently the only company that has been deemed adequate for this purpose. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes. If you feel your firm can provide the specialized compound mentioned above, please submit a capability statement by 12:00 PM CDT, 23 August 2024. The decision not to compere this requirment is within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must provide clear evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government. The Government may consider all capability statement received for a future requirement.
