COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION 1333ND24QNB640351 THz Quantum Cascade Laser System This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6- Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested, and a separate written solicitation document will not be issued.

This solicitation is being issued under the authority of FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This solicitation is a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2024-05, effective 5/22/2024.

The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516 – Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The Optical Measurements Group in in the Chemical Sciences Division of the Material Measurement Laboratory (MML) is responsible for spectrometer design and development within the FIRVIR for Climate Metrology IMS project.

Part of that work, the Group requires laser sources at wavelengths from 15 ?m to 100 ?m to test components which will ultimately comprise a working spectro-radiometry calibration and measurement testbed. Thus, to advance the measurement goals of the group, a THz Quantum Cascade Laser system is required.
