Shimadzu Instruments Preventative Maintenance

NOTICE OF INTENT. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. The Agricultural Research Service intends to award a firm fixed price Commercial Service purchase order to Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc. for preventative maintenance of Shimadzu instruments. The Government has found Shimadzu to be the only reasonable source that can successfully provide the requirement.

The statutory authority if for other than full an open competition is 10 USC 2304(c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A Determination to Solicit from a Single Source is being prepared.

The Government anticipates award in September of 2024. Vendors that have questions regarding the sole source nature of the requirement or vendors that believe they can provide the requirement are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contract Specialist no later than 2pm (MT) on August 20, 2024. The NAICS code for this requirement is 811210 Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance with a size standard of $34.0 million. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action base on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.

Any contractor interested in doing business with the Federal Government must be registered and active at www.SAM.gov. SAM is a Federal Government owned and operated FREE website. All invoices for this requirement must be submitted through the Department of Treasury’s Invoice Processing Platform located at www.ipp.gov.
