Notice of Intent to Sole Source Heracles II analytical

Notice # 1137012 This is a special notice prepared in accordance with FAR 5.2 “Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions”. There is no solicitation available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will receive no response. This proposed contract action is published to notify potential sources that the USDA Forest Service facilities located at Pathology Lab, Southern Hardwoods Laboratory, 432 Stoneville Road, Stoneville, Mississippi intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract to Alpha MOS America.

The scope of this equipment maintenance annual contract work is to provide regular preventative maintenance on our Heracles II analytical instrument to keep the instrument in operational order for conducting analytical-chemistry scientific research in the laboratory on an annual basis. The instrument must be maintained by qualified personnel in a working state so that routine research laboratory data may be acquired using the instrument throughout the research and FS fiscal year.

See SOW Attached (3 pages, 24-July-2024) The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition is FAR 13.106-1 (b)(1)(i) - Soliciting from a single sole source for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any information submitted by respondents to this synopsis is strictly voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information that is submitted by respondents to this notice of proposed contract action.
