RFI 00585-CAB: Electron and Hadron Endcap Structures for the ePIC Detector

Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (herein known as “BSA”), operator of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) under a Prime Contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is seeking expressions of interest from firms regarding two (2) Electron and Hadron Endcap Structures for the Electron-Proton/Ion Collider (ePIC) detector to be built in the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) interaction region IP-6 (Experimental Hall of the ePIC Detector) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), managed by Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA).

The Electron Structures, Endcap Structures, or Encaps as outlined in the following attachments: Attachment A- Statement of Work for the Electron and Hadron Endcap Structures for the ePIC Detector Attachment B- Technical Specification for the Electron and Hadron Endcap Structures for the ePIC Detector Attachment C- Drawing No. EPC-FWD-FLX-SUP-ASM-100 (Forward Endcap) Attachment D- Drawing No. EPC-BWD-FLX-SUP-ASM-100 (Backward Endcap Attachment E- Drawing No. EPC-FWD-FLX-FIX-ASM-350 (Forward Endcap Fixtures) Attachment F- Drawing No. EPC-BWD-FLX-FIX-ASM-350 (Backward Endcap Fixtures) Attachment G- BNL-QA-101 Revision 04/2025 Please note that this is an RFI/Sources Sought notice, not a Request for Proposal, and no solicitation exists at this time.

This RFI is for informational and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government, nor will the U.S. Government pay for information received. The information from this notice will help the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Basic Energy Sciences (BES) survey available resources. We are open to all information you can and care to provide at this point. Please provide responses to BSA no later than October 17, 2025. BSA prefers electronic submissions of submittals.
