Prospectus for Campground and Related Granger-Thye Concessions Monongahela National Forest

This prospectus is being issued to solicit applications for a concession campground special use permit. A permit or permits to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of Government-owned recreation facilities located on the Marlinton-White Sulphur Ranger District, Monongahela National Forest, will be issued.

The permit or permits will include the following developed sites: Lake Sherwood Campground and Recreation Area, Blue Bend Campground and Large Picnic Shelter Area, Blue Meadow Group Campground, Hopkins Mountain Fireman’s Patrol Cabin, and Pocahontas Campground.

All applications must be submitted to Cynthia Sandeno, Forest Supervisor, Attention: Michael Hancock, 200 Sycamore Street, Elkins, WV, 26241. Applications must be received by close of business (4:30 p.m.) on October 17, 2025. A field visit is scheduled on August 26, 2025. Meeting place and time will be the entrance station at Lake Sherwood Recreation Area at 10am EST.
