The Defense Health Agency Southeastern Healthcare Operations Contracting Division intends to negotiate on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) soliciting from a single source. The proposed manufacturer is COSMED USA, Inc., who is the exclusive manufacturer and sole parts provider for the COSMED BOD POD Body Composition Analyzer Systems at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, FL.
Naval Hospital Jacksonville has a requirement for a non-personal services contract for preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance services on the COSMED Body Composition Analyzer System (BOD POD). The BOD POD uses Air Displacement Plethysmography which utilizes whole body densitometric principles to determine body composition (fat and fat-free mass) in adults and children.
The Contractor shall maintain the equipment within the original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM) specifications, in accordance with the newest US, State, and Local law and regulations, Defense Health Agency (DHA) regulations, and The Joint Commission requirements. There are not set-aside restrictions for this requirement.
The intended procurement will be classified under North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) 811210. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data sufficient to determine capability in providing the required services, to include permission from the manufacturer.
All capability statements received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
