These periodic inspections are required to meet FDA requirements, Army regulations (MEDCOM 40-42, TB MED 521), and Joint Commission in order to ensure diagnostic x-ray systems meet technical requirements so that they provide adequate clinical images and reduce radiation exposure to patients and staff to defined or recommended limits.
