## Description

This contract will provide support to KAFB as the landowner and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) as the operator of the OT-10 area. Work is being performed to address comments from a 2022 inspection completed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). For more information see NRC Inspection Reports 030-28641/2021-004 and 030-28641/2021-005. The OT-10 area is located in the southeast portion of the facility near the golf course.

It consists of four active thorium-seeded training fields and a bunker used by DTRA to train military radiological response personnel in the detection of dispersed contamination resulting from incidents involving nuclear weapons. A list of the five sites and approximate acreage is below. Attachment 1 includes a general location map and aerials of the sites.

**Training Site (TS)-1:** Convoy Site, 7.6 acres consisting of mostly flat terrain TS-2: C-130 crash site, 12.5 acres consisting of uneven terrain with hills and small arroyos TS-3: B-52 crash site, 10 acres consisting of mostly flat terrain TS-4: Helicopter crash site, 10 acres consisting of mostly flat terrain Building 28005 and the immediate surrounding area: Bunker containing potentially radioactive material, 1 acre of flat terrain A radiological investigation that included gamma walkover surveys (GWS) and soil sampling was completed in 2024, and the associated results report provides the latest information on the OT-10 area. This document is currently at draft stage, and will be provided upon finalization
