Approximately 1 borrow areas is available for the project and located offshore of Topsail Island Beaches at the south end of the island. The Surf City Coastal Storm Risk Management Project consists of placing 6,500,000 CY of Dune and Berm beach fill along approximately 33,300 LF of Surf City Beach. This project shall use either an ocean certified hopper and/or an ocean certified pipeline dredge. The project also consists of extending approximately 40 existing walkover structures in Surf City and the stabilization of approximately 46 to 56 acres of new dune.
