## Description

This is a SOURCES SOUGHT announcement; a market survey for information only, to be used for planning purposes. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE A5WARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. The Government is seeking qualified, experienced sources capable of completing is the below work to government specifications and located within a 100 mile radius of Memphis, TN. The Government intends to acquire a Contractor to repair the D6T Dozer’s rear main seal on the engine.

The existing rear main seal has failed causing oil to leak into the transmission. Contractor shall wash the machine and remove the engine, remove the crankshaft rear seal, and replace with new seal. Remove the torque converter and re-install. The Contractor shall then reinstall the engine attaching it to the transmission. The Contractor shall also refill the transmission with clean fluid, change all filters and test and repair the transmission fluid.

If not at its appropriate standard, the Contractor will drain the transmission again and refill. After removal Contractor shall perform a full cleaning which includes, but is not limited to, washing/cleaning. All repairs shall be made using Caterpillar new/remanufactured parts. Components from existing engine are acceptable if properly “remanufactured” to applicable criteria that meets the industry standards for resale as “remanufactured” parts. No aftermarket parts will be accepted.

All “core charges” shall be absorbed by the Contractor, with no additional charges to the Government. The parts shown in list below shall be replaced at a minimum. If there’s any discrepancies in the provided parts numbers, the vendor shall cross reference the numbers to identify the appropriate part identification Vendor’s response to this Synopsis shall be limited to 5 pages and shall include the following information:

1. Vendor’s name, address, point of contact, phone number and e-mail address.

2. Vendor’s prior experience in heavy machinery repair.

3. Vendor’s Business Size (Small Business, Large Business, .etc.).

4. Firms overall approach to the requirements listed above.
